Galloping Ghost got a Ninja Baseball Bat Man cabinet so I finally got to play that. It’s really fun!

DUDE. That is amazing.

I can’t recommend Galloping Ghost enough to people in the Chicago area. $15 to get in but all of the games are free to play so you can just stay until you get bored instead of staying until you run out of money. And they stay open until 2:00 AM every night, so you can really get a lot for your money. I like to go there once a year for like a 6+ hour marathon until I’m totally worn out. The guy who owns it makes a point of tracking down rare arcade cabinets, and all of their staff are trained to be able to modify and actually repair them, so it’s not like other arcades where a third of the machines are just broken all the time. Oh and all of the cabinets have Twin Galaxies’ official high score records pinned to the top.

They also have a SegaSonic the Hedgehog, which is now probably the rarest game I’ve ever played. It predates Sonic 2 and features a character named Ray the Squirrel, who never appeared again and was apparently the original design for Sonic before it was decided he should be a hedgehog.
