The hardest Oscar to predict this year is surprisingly Best Director, which is usually one of the easiest. I usually just look at the results of the various guilds and critics awards and weigh those in my head, but doing that this year leads to Ben Affleck being the clear winner and for some fucking reason he isn’t nominated.

I am putting my money on Spielberg. Wouldn’t be my choice, but I think he is going to win. 

I ended up picking Ang Lee, but if he doesn’t win, Spielberg will.
