The other night Cara and I watched a movie from the early ’90s called Munchie. It is ostensibly a children’s movie about some thing with the most horrifying animatronics and puppetry trying to help some kid win the heart of a 13-year-old Jennifer Love Hewitt. The creature is called Munchie, he is voiced by Dom Deluise, and he looks like a severe burn victim. Sometimes he enters the scene in really startling and terrifying ways. You start to get the feeling that any time this boy turns a corner, Munchie might be there, staring with his weird, stupid eyes. This movie made me want to die slightly. I highly recommend it. It’s on Netflix.
On a side note, Cara and I started watching this having no idea that Munchie was voiced by Dom Deluise, and when I realized that’s who it was, it was a magical moment. One of our nicknames for our cat is Dom Deluise. We call him this to mock him, because we think he looks like Dom Deluise sometimes. Now that we’ve seen this movie, we are calling him Munchie.

If you haven’t seen the 80’s movie entitled “Munchie” drop what you’re doing and RUN to the nearest Family Video.
