I have one note. Wouldn’t it be better if, rather than spontaneously combusting, Joan and Don set him on fire themselves? Then they can also stand around kicking him for the rest of the episode as well.

That would make for a good twist, but I would have to save it for the end. The entire middle of the episode needs to be a static shot of Pete sitting in a chair screaming in pain. It is the purity of my vision that makes it beautiful and if you AMC fat cats change it I am walking!

Aren’t they changing the ending anyway? I thought they’d caved on that.

They did, but I have mixed feelings about it. For one, I’m not thrilled that the gaming community is bullying the artistic side of the game development world into changing their vision to match popular taste, even though in this case I think the fans are right to be dissatisfied. Secondly, it seems like the DLC they’re making will mostly elaborate on the ending. That’s a good start, but there are a lot of problems that simply elaborating on the parts that were disappointingly vague just won’t fix.

At least it’s supposedly going to be free.

What is so abhorrent about the word Chicago that people can’t just use that? I can’t think of a single ‘chi-’ nickname that doesn’t make the speaker sound like an asshole.

Chi-tilly doesn’t even make sense. There’s no ‘T’ in Chicago. Where did the ‘T’ come from? Where did those ‘L’s come from? What’s happening here?

    Jeez, old man.

At least I wasn’t staring at their thighs like all of the other creeps in my train car.

What about something like the Sofia Coppola Marie Antoinette movie, where they’re deliberately introducing anachronism into a film to try and better provoke empathy with the time?

I wouldn’t know, I didn’t see Marie Antoinette because of the soundtrack of the trailer. I just think if you’re making a historical picture you should commit to it and not result to pulling random shit from the present to make it more relatable. If you have to resort to employing a technique that will remove your audience from the historical period in which your film is set just to make your audience able to identify with your characters and setting, you should probably not be making historical pieces.

    Which film/song is that?

Check out the new trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby adaptation.

I guess I should have lower standards when it comes to Baz Luhrmann by now, but I always want to believe he is going to try to make a movie that’s not stupid.

Augh that sounds like the worst. I had a viral infection once where I would take a sip of water, then wake up an hour later and throw up, take another sip, repeat, all night.

That’s basically what was happening yesterday.

It has to do with budget reasons, right? A fantasy series has to cost buckets more than your average drama, I’d imagine.

You’re probably right. I’ve seen other things in the show that suggest that budgeting might be tight too. For instance, I’m pretty sure that whole scene where Dany doesn’t show the Qartheen her dragons at the gate was added because the CGI budget for that episode was all going towards the Melisandre shadow birthing sequence so they couldn’t show the dragons.

Also please tell me that someone’s called him a racist and he’s responded with ‘but I put this black guy in my comic! even if he is actually a robot so it’s not really the same thing at all!’

I’m not a racist! I put a robot disguised as a black person in one of my comic strips in order to make an extremely lazy and racist joke, but I’m not racist!
