Sometimes my cat will catch a slight reflection of himself in the hardwood floor or Cara’s iPad or something and he’ll get startled and hop straight into the air. The more startled he is, the higher the hop. Sometimes he’ll realize it’s just a reflection right away, and his muscles tense up like he’s about to jump but he stops himself before he actually does. I wish I could capture this on video because it’s really weird and hilarious.
He keeps trying to get at my Italian ice.
I think we’ve found Butters’s next birthday present.
My cat is turning into a little french duke
He pretty much refuses to eat regular dry food. He only eats Fancy Feast now.
If we try to give him anything else, he will literally herd one of us into the kitchen until we open him a can of fucking whitefish & tuna.
Fancy sweater boy
I put Butters in his old sweater last night and he seems to be enjoying himself.
I just had a pretty interesting conversation with my neighbor across the hall. Apparently Butters has been getting out through the back door and having little outdoor adventures when we’re not home. I guess our back door’s latch isn’t really working. Our neighbors have just been rangling up our cat and bringing him back up to our kitchen for us. I’m pretty embarrassed and feel like they all think I’m a bad cat-dad.
He climbs up on the mantle and knocks the stocking down, then he has the nerve to stand on top of it and stare at me.
