In Westeros, “Hill” is the surname used for bastards from the Westerlands. I think in future books/seasons there should be a character named Hank Hill, the bastard gas merchant. GRRM already introduced a Mr. Strickland in the most recent book. Maybe Hank Hill can provide some sort of clean burning wildfire for the Golden Company’s fire arrows.

This was probably my favorite small council scene in the series. Everyone in it was amazing, especially Jack Gleason. That moment when he tells Tywin off was probably the moment I hated Joffrey the least. It was stupid of him to say it, but he was totally right.

[Heavily implied] spoilers for most recent Game of Thrones episode:

They also cut the scene where Robb is on the way to the wedding and decides that if anything should happen to him before he has a son, Jon Snow will be his heir. He even tells him mom and most of his bannermen, makes an official written declaration, and has one of the Mormont ladies (Jorah’s mom or sister) deliver it to Greywater Watch for safekeeping with Howland Reed. I found this extremely significant in the books for a lot of reasons, even though nothing has exactly come of it yet.

Shouts out to Michael McElhatton for taking a much toned down interpretation of Roose Bolton and managing to make him perfectly chilling in all of the right moments.

Almost all of the changes that the writers of Game of Thrones have made from the books have been fine. Some are arguably improvements. But goddamn did they drop the ball with the House of the Undying. Maybe I’m biased because I loved that chapter so much in the books, but it seems like they just cut out all of the badass prophetic shit and important foreshadowing in favor of exploiting the fans’ very obvious Daenerys-Khal Drogo feels. Even the way they had Drogon rescue Dany was stupid as hell. The dude just stands there and gets set on fire. In the book Drogon eviscerates a giant black beating heart that hangs above something that looks like the cover of an Electric Wizard album and the House of the Undying basically implodes like the House of Usher or something! That is so much cooler!
